Hege Gundersen - Norway Coast to Coast
Today (4 June 2021), Hege Gundersen begins on the roughly 2800 km long journey from Lindesnes to the North Cape. Over the next 4 months we will follow Hege over mountains and through valleys - along the whole of Norway. Follow us on Instagram for updates from the world's most beautiful trip.
Who is Hege?
I'm a 29-year-old nurse from Flisa, residing in Lofoten. A restless soul with a lot of energy and drive to experience as much as possible. I’m curious, mad about nature, and love to challenge myself.
Why Norway Coast to Coast?
I love trekking, the outdoors, traveling, and new experiences. This trip has been on my bucket list for a long time but hasn’t been prioritized. For many years I’ve traveled the world as a solo backpacker, now with covid, that’s out of the question. It’s the perfect timing to experience my own backyard, Norway.
What are you looking forward to?
I look forward to seeing all that Norway has to offer, challenge myself, learn new things, push my own boundaries, and being in the moment. + Reisdalen looks insanely nice! Most of all I look forward to walking out on the North Cape plateau after 4 months of trekking, what an immense feeling it must be.
How to pack
Wondering how to pack for 4 months on the go? First, the route for the trip is staked out. I know exactly how many kilometers I have to walk on the different stages. For example Finse to Fondsbu = 121km / 6 days = 20km every day. Based on this information, I can pack rations.
