Corporate Social Responsibility

Curious about how we work?

We work closely with our suppliers so that we at all times know where our raw materials come from and that the wool we use is mulesing free. We have open supplier lists that you can see here.

Our ethical guidelines are communicated to all our suppliers and are embedded in our contracts. Our suppliers must sign the valid Code of Conduct (CoC), which is based on the UN's human rights conventions, and deals with, among others. human rights, labor rights, HSE, environment and development throughout the value chain.

As a consumer you can be sure that the goods you shop from Ulvang are made with care for both people and the environment. Our focus on corporate social responsibility contributes to creating a more sustainable and environmentally friendly collection, from the first idea on the design table, to development, production and delivery in stores.

In order to make the right choices, get advice and professional help for our sustainability work, we have been a member of the Ethical Trade Initiative (IEH) since 2005. IEH is a member organization and Norway's largest network of companies, organizations and public enterprises that work binding and systematically to ensure sustainable supply chains. Being a member of IEH involves tackling challenges in your own supply chain, and reporting openly about status and progress in the work. Membership commits to continuous improvement work and gives access to courses, networks and exchange of experience, seminars and advice.

We follow EU legislation when it comes to the chemicals used in the manufacture of our products. Our suppliers signify that they follow European Chemicals legislation, called REACH. Through our membership in RISE, we keep abreast of legislative changes and requirements in relation to the use of chemicals.

Many of our products are STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified. This means that absolutely all parts of the product have been tested according to given standards and do not contain traces of harmful substances.

Ulvang has his own employees whose main task is to regularly visit all our textile manufacturers to follow up on our routines, CoC, and ethical guidelines being followed in the daily work.
